SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Radio Maintainers work shall consist of installing base stations, mobile radios, affixing, connecting, testing, repairing and programming of all radio equipment. Performs routine maintenance inspections of radio sites and other duties as assigned. 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must High School Diploma or equivalent with additional technical school training.
  • Must have 2 years experience in licensed land mobile radio communications. Familiar with FCC rules and regulations, must possess a practical working knowledge of testing, repairing and maintaining wireless communications equipment and systems. Prefer proficiency with computers and networking. Prior satisfactory job performance required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Preferred: FCC GROL

 

COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS :
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

 

The hourly rate is $36.04 - $48.05 (with opportunity for increases, as per the applicable collective bargaining agreement, after beginning employment). If an applicant/employee refuses to provide written consent for Amtrak to obtain these records, the individual will not be permitted to perform safety-sensitive functions.

 

In accordance with federal law governing security checks of covered individuals for providers of public transportation (Title 6 U.S.C. §1143), Amtrak is required to screen applicants for any permanent or interim disqualifying criminal offenses.
