Director, Member Engagement & Corporate Communications Join to apply for the Director, Member Engagement & Corporate Communications role at Duck River EMC Overview Duck River Electric Membership Corporation (DREMC) is seeking a Director, Member Engagement & Corporate Communications . DREMC is a member-owned electric cooperative serving over 85,000 members across 17 counties in southern middle Tennessee, dedicated to providing safe, reliable electricity at the lowest possible cost, promoting economic development, and enhancing quality of life. Location & Reporting Location: Shelbyville, TN (partial remote work opportunities) Reports to: Chief Administrative Officer Job Responsibilities Develop and implement strategies for member services, engagement initiatives, community outreach, and communications. Supervise office managers and coordinate with the communications team to ensure effective messaging. Enhance member satisfaction through ongoing evaluation and feedback mechanisms. Lead innovative efforts in billing, service, and outreach programs based on trend analysis. Build and maintain relationships with members, community leaders, and stakeholders. Coordinate community events, sponsorships, and outreach initiatives. Manage communication channels including social media, newsletters, and website content. Represent DREMC at community and industry events. Develop and monitor KPIs for member service and communication effectiveness. Oversee internal and external communication strategies, including media relations and crisis communication. Ensure brand consistency and alignment with organizational goals. Coordinate the Annual Membership Meeting and related activities. Provide emergency response coverage as needed. Minimum Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, or related field. Experience: At least 7 years in communications, member/customer engagement, or public relations, with 3+ years in leadership. Experience in utilities or cooperatives is preferred. Licenses: Valid Tennessee Driver’s License or ability to obtain one prior to employment; must be insurable under the cooperative’s auto policy. Skills & Abilities: Leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills; proficiency in communication planning, brand management, and familiarity with billing systems; crisis management experience; ability to manage multiple priorities.
